The objective of this website is to be
technically oriented. Like most websurfers, I have gone to site after site looking for
useful information and usually find the same old deal. Lots of pretty graphic images, but
no real context of any sort. No basic Mopar technical information or step for step
instructions how somebody modified or restored something on their cuda and how it turned
out for better or worse..yes worse! Most websites are loaded with mostly useless gif /
jpeg images and there is only about a paragraph or two of real text. Other sites load up
on rotating icons, blinking buttons, etc. which makes them look worse than a casino in
Vegas and will probably give some websurfers a seizure.
"Where's the beef on the internet?" You may be asking. Well it's suppertime,
pull up a chair and if I don't have a meal for you I'll try to link you to a site that
will.
All technical information presented here I have obtained from written sources, web boards,
research, Mopar books, other peoples sites, and expensive trial and error. I have done 99%
of the modifications described on this site to my own 1968 Cuda convertible. I will try to
reference all sources of information where possible and I encourage any input from you,
the Mopar enthusiast, that will make the site better, that corrects or refutes my data or
anything else. I don't acknowledge having all the answers or the best solutions on this
site but again I encourage technical input from anyone that has better. If you have a tech
based ONLY site and like to give me your URL's I would be happy to put it in my links
library. Lately I have been getting many "Link to my site"
requests and I'll do yours. Of course I look at their site
and its usually some crappy commercial site. The reason for these
requests is that it legitimizes their site and the more hyperlinks they
have the higher up the list the site shows on the search engines. If you
want to link and you offer nothing for me or the people who like my site
except for making you a buck forget it. I am not interested.
Another thing that is starting to
piss me off are offers to grab parts of my site to fatten up theirs. Now
I am not totally opposed to it in certain circumstances but people have
been ripping off parts of my site without asking. So please stop
stealing and develop your own content.
For those of you who like parts
data I have kept an MS Excel 2002 spreadsheet (In MS Office XP version) with every part
number, manufacturer, price, and store I bought a part from during the ongoing restoration
of this car. If you need a Pep Boys or Autozone part number for a disk brake swap, C -
body tie rod swap into A - body, etc. I probably have it there
I do not have an engine page as I really have
nothing to say that you couldn't learn from a good Mopar engine book. I plan to dedicate
that page to turbocharging a V8 or using an ATI under the hood supercharger. I plan to
install such a setup after I finish putting my car back together, save up some $$$,
educate myself with turbocharging and supercharging, and find time to install the setup
and debug the whole thing. If anyone has tried to install twin turbos on a small block any
information you can contribute would be appreciated.
A few sections of the site are still uncompleted as of this date. I apologize for this. I
am lazy, no excuse.
Lastly, I would like to thank the fine people over at Tom's Moparts Q/A Web Board (Where I hang out), as I believe that it is the finest mopar
site around and I appreciate the members of that board for helping out people like
you and me. The owners of this site and others contribute more to the hobby than can be
imagined and all for free.
Well, that's all I have to say. Please enjoy the
site.
